About me

Hi, I am Lara am a single mama to an awesome boy living with Autism. I am also a midsize fashion, beauty and lifestyle content creator and for as long as I could remember, I have always been obsessed with by fashion. However being on the curvy side meant that there were not a lot of spaces available to me within the fashion industry.

Growing up I was a thumb boy and wore  a lot of my older brothers baggy clothes. Which I off course made fashionable in my own way. 

I also wanted to be a fashion designer however coming from a Nigerian background this was frowned upon. As it was not seen as as a career that would pay the bills. So I became a social worker and I loved my Job and client group until 2020 when covid happened and it became very difficult to continue and I decided to become a full-time content creator so that I can be available for myself and my son.

To me, fashion is much more than just the clothes you wear but rather an extension of your personality and your mood. By setting up Lara Style Closet, my aim has always been to show you that regardless of what shape you are, you can look and feel good all at the same time.
